Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress who is best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. The couple had separated and she relocated with her mother into Los Angeles. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first role as the title character in the online video series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. The TV film Murder in Greenwich where she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost on which she was the main character for the initial two seasons, and was awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. Grace has worked together with Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, decided to make the move into film. She also starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills in Taken. The same character was played by Grace in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace returned to the Lost series for the last two episodes playing Shannon. She also appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. She portrays Faith who is both a star-gazer and groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Gyllenhaal is a part of the family and is the elder sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career in the teen years with minor parts in a few of his films. She also appeared alongside her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics in both of her roles as the lead of Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), which is an erotic romantic drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). She was also nominated by the Golden Globe Award. Her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercials she appeared in the year the year 2006. As a single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Then she appeared in dramas and comedies such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Other roles she has played include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in the film Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021, Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut in the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
